We are ZOBO.

Zobo is a juxtaposed character – embodying the marriage of seemingly contradictory characteristics and outlooks. It is the idea of being comfortable in unfamiliar situations and coming out learned and admired; being able to 'walk amongst kings nor lose the common touch', as Rudyard Kipling has intoned.

It is an idea of being fiercely disciplined but strong in the pursuit of indulgence. Moderation and status quo are not absolutes. They are to be shunned when convenient. It is a modernist outlook poised on a foundation of traditionalism.

It is being comfortable in the forest or outback with a crusty denim shirt swilling whatever is available on tap, to being equally comfortable dining with dignitaries in proper black-tie sipping martinis (strictly gin, Monkey-47 preferably). Spending large on artisan clothing that last but rejecting “luxury” fashion, and in doing so lamenting fashion but lauding style.

The contradictory lifestyle Zobo personifies enlarges an apocryphal perception and only those that are not strangers know that truth is far from said perception. As they say, those that know, know. And hopefully dear reader, if you are here and still reading, you know.

But most importantly, it is taking articles that belong on the opposing ends of a spectrum and bringing them together in a way that makes sense – that is the juxtaposition of Zobo.

ZOBO Highlights.

Lotus Lanka 1

A lotus flower begins growing at the bottom of a muddy, murky pool, and slowly emerges towards the surface, bursting out of the water into a beautiful blossom and shines. A gorgeous light among the darkness and suffering. The mission and vision of Lotus Lanka bases itself upon this symbolic meaning of the Lotus Flower.

We are very proud to work with Lotus Lanka, to support vulnerable children, and help them become the best versions of themselves.

1 in 5 of us will experience symptoms of mental illness in any given year. In Australia that’s around 5 million people. And roughly 60% of these people won’t seek help. The Black Dog Institute conduct research studies, education programs, create digital tools and apps, provide clinical services, and public resources to discover new solutions - all in an aim in fostering connections and creating real-world change.
Mental health is dearly close to our hearts, which is why we are proud to support the Black Dog Institute.

The backpacks and supplier provided help to relieve some of the stress and anxiety children face when they are removed from their family, often in traumatic situations and without the opportunity to take any personal belongings with them. Over 6,300 children and around 1000 carers are provided assistance per year, however, demand is always growing.

It is the least we can do, to use any resource we have, to help those in vulnerable positions. Backpacks 4 SA Kids provides an unbelievable service, which we are proud to support.
